Funding signal
Funding events and known capital across India's deep-tech sectors — compiled from public news reports and community submissions. We count every round we find, including those with undisclosed amounts, so “events” is always the fuller number and “known funding” is deliberately a subset.

What these numbers are made of
Every eventon record here is a company's latest known round, found by web research rather than reported round by round. Two consequences worth knowing before you quote these numbers:
- Each such company contributes oneevent, so “funding events” is a floor on real activity — closer to companies with a known latest round than to a count of rounds, which is why it matches the companies-funded card exactly right now.
- Their amount is the company's total known capital raised, priced in the year of that round — so known funding reads high per event, and the median is a median of company totals rather than of single rounds.
Press-reported and community-submitted rounds are counted one round at a time; this caveat shrinks as they land.
Two more things a careful reader should know: early years rest on very few events, so a single large round can dominate a year before roughly 2021 — read the shape of the curve, not any one point. And the set follows our deep-tech startup classification, which includes India-registered subsidiaries and companies with foreign parents, so a national total is not the same as capital raised by Indian-founded companies.
Events and known capital by year
Bars are funding events (left axis); the line is known funding — disclosed rounds only (right axis). They diverge when more rounds go unreported, not when less money moves. 2026 is year-to-date.

How we count funding
This signal is compiled from public news reports and community submissions. Press-reported and community rounds carry a link to the source they came from; entries derived from our own company research are marked as such and carry no per-round citation — they record thata company raised, not a single reported deal. We count every funding event we find, including rounds with undisclosed amounts, so “funding events” is always ≥ “disclosed rounds”.
“Known funding” sums disclosed amounts only, converted at a fixed reference rate (₹83/USD, as of Jul 2026); undisclosed rounds are counted as events, never as $0, and medians use disclosed amounts only. Some entries reflect a company's latest known round rather than its full round history.
This is a directional signal from press-reported data — not audited financials, not MCA filings, and not investment advice. A company's own round history, where we have it, is on its profile in the startup directory.
